Taking a small instance, one day i was browsing on safari on my mobile, and landed upto a page and suddenly safari stopped working. You can say it my fortune that at the beginning only i bookmarked that page for the sake of security. So i was relaxed, as in my subconscious mind i was wondering that i would install google chrome and transfer my bookmarks of safari to it. But then the moment i step towards it, i realised that this can’t be done as iPhone doesn’t allows such functionality.
Now What to do? Where to find that page again as earlier also i found that page by going through the loop of links. So at that point one thing was conform that there’s no way to directly import bookmarks from Safari into Chrome. For that, you’ll have take a few steps and even get your desktop computer involved. How To Transfer Bookmarks From Safari To Chrome On iOS :
Step 1 : First and foremost to get your bookmarks into chrome, you have to transfer it to your desktop, for that on your iOS you have to sync safari with iCloud.
Step 2 : Now you have to import the bookmarks to the desktop version of chrome.
For Mac :
Head over to Tools Menu->Bookmarks->Import bookmarks and settings.
In the settings page, tap on safari from the drop down menu and select the items you want to import and finally click on import button.
For Windows :
In windows to import the bookmarks, first you have to download and install iCloud for windows. After successful installation, launch iCloud, tap on bookmarks and at last select the browser from which you want to get the bookmarks in chrome, hit “OK” Button and at last tap “Apply”.
When asked if you want to merge bookmarks, go ahead and click the “Merge” button.
Step 3 : Almost half of the things are done, now you just have to sync chrome between your desktop and iOS. For that head over to chrome of your desktop Tools->menu>Settings->Sign in to chrome.
After signing into your google account, By default chrome will start syncing your bookmarks, Extensions, Apps, Passwords and many more things to your google servers. To get control on your syncing options head over to Advanced Settings on the settings page and disable the choices which you don’t want to sync.
Step 4 : Again you have to same steps on chrome for your iOS. Launch chrome on iOS head over to Tools Menu->Settings->Sign in to chrome.
After successfully signing into your chrome, to get your bookmarks and many more things to sync with google servers tap on “Ok, Got It” button.
But then if you want to get the commands on the options which you want to sync, then tap on Settings->Sync and enable the options which you want to sync.
Viola! You have successfully Transfer your Bookmarks from Safari to Chrome on iOS.
